Intern Profile: Becky Bruni

Hi! My name is Becky and I’m a senior at Purdue. I’m majoring in Art History with a minor in Classical Studies. I love playing with my dogs and cats, reading, and visiting museums.

How long have you worked with Convocations?

I have been helping out at Convos for almost 6 years! I enjoy doing everything from selling merchandise, to organizing archive files, to distributing marketing materials, and more.

What is your favorite part about working for Convocations?

My favorite part of working at Convos is reaching out to students. I love seeing students get excited about Convos and what we do. It’s even more exciting to see them at shows!

Do you have a favorite Convos show you’ve attended?

I’ve seen so many Convos shows. One of my favorites was Alvin Sputnik. And every year brings so many new and exciting things!

What are you currently listening to?

Until the next show, I’ll be over here listening to my Taylor Swift playlist! *smile*

What advice would you give a student in your position?

Take advantage of what surrounds you! Go to Convos shows! And help spread the word to other students. Also, learn as much as you can from the people at Convos. The Convos staff is like a family, they love to get students involved and help them learn.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I plan to be a registrar or curator at an art museum.

What about your favorite project you’ve worked on?

I really enjoyed going through and organizing the office’s archive files. It was so cool to see how Convos has evolved over the years. I especially liked seeing how the marketing strategies and styles have changed. It was a blast!

If you could bring anyone to Purdue, who would you bring?

I would bring Drew Lynch. He is a hilarious comedian and a voice for the disability community. I would love to see him on campus.

What do you view as Convos’ most important impact on Purdue’s campus?

Convos brings people together. We provide opportunities for adults, children, and students to come together for events they may have never heard of or thought they would appreciate. And there’s always something for everyone to enjoy! Go Convos!
