Internships
Graduate Professional for Student Organizations
The Graduate Professional works under the direct supervision of the Director of Marketing, co-advising the three university-recognized student organizations sponsored by Purdue Convocations. The position will serve as co-advisor to Convocations Volunteer Network (CVN), the 250+-member volunteer student ushering & promotional organization as the Staff Advisor prescribed by Purdue Student Activities and Organizations. The position co-advises the Student Concert Committee (SCC) – a 16-member student organization that plans, promotes, and hosts nationally and internationally touring musical acts and comedians. Additionally, the position co-advises TEDxPurdueU, the independently organized student organization that hosts an annual main event and several salon events. Other opportunities for growth include working with experienced professionals involved in group sales, audience development, customer service, event management, public relations, fundraising, and finance. Such training will give the Graduate Professional experience in management, marketing, advertising, publicity, public relations, student activities, financial budgeting and management, and arts administration. This position is a 9-month, half-time position, from August 14, 2023 – May 12, 2024. It is preferred that candidates commit to the position for two years.
Event Production Intern
The primary role of the Event Production Intern position is to support the Purdue Convocations Artist Relations and Education Manager. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a multi-disciplinary performing arts presenting organization and the environment that entails. The Event Production Intern position should work 20 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The Event Production Intern position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.
