ENDOWMENTS
Endowments provide Convocations with financial support for the future. The principle of the gift is invested, and only a portion of the interest is spent each year. A minimum of $25,000 is required to begin a new endowment in consultation with Convocations staff. New gifts are welcomed and are added to the endowment’s principle amount to generate greater interest revenue. Donors who make a one-time gift or pledge of $10,000 or more to an endowment qualify for Lifetime membership status. The current Purdue Convocations endowments are listed below:
Davis Family Endowment
Provides performance support
Jeanne Compton Endowment for Artistic Excellence
This fund was established in November 2002 with a gift by W. Dale and Jeanne C. Compton. It was created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Friends of Convocations as a way to inspire others in the community to support Convos by enhancing and perpetuating the presence of world-class performances at Purdue.
Income is to be used toward the payment of fees of artists or companies engaged by Purdue Convocations or its successor. The director of Purdue Convocations, after annual consultation with the donors, will select the performance(s) for which the income will be used. Read more about Jeanne Compton’s legacy.
