A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Todd Wetzel

Executive Director, Purdue Convocations

At Purdue Convocations, we bring the world’s most inspiring performing artists to our community—sparking creativity, conversation, and connection through music, theatre, dance, and more. As a self-supporting performing arts organization, we rely on the generosity of donors, sponsors, and patrons like you to make these experiences possible. Your support ensures that extraordinary performances, innovative education programs, and engaging community events continue to thrive at Purdue. Thank you for being a vital part of keeping the performing arts alive and accessible for all.

OUR MISSION

Purdue Convocations supports its mission through general performance funds and targeted programmatic support.

Catalyze the Curriculum

We catalyze the curriculum by transforming the theater into a dynamic extension of the classroom. We provide opportunities for students to engage with the arts through hands-on experiences, from internships and student organizations to our Curricular Connections program that brings academic lessons to life on stage. Additionally, we foster intellectual exploration with pre-show discussions led by professors, and we offer free performances for John Martinson Honors College students and field trips for K-12 school groups, ensuring that students of all ages can access and learn from world-class art.

Energize the Community

We energize the community by sharing compelling stories on stage (and sometimes off-stage)—stories that reflect your experiences, stories that need to be heard, stories that connect us all, and stories that offer an escape. Our ability to bring these powerful performances to life is made possible by your support. Every ticket purchase and generous gift directly fuels our mission, allowing us to put you, our community, and the world’s most captivating ideas on stage. With ticket purchases and generous gifts, our patrons raise their hands in support of our work to make this a vibrant place to live, work, and play.

Distinguish the Institution

We distinguish Purdue University by presenting world-class performances and events that bring globally renowned artists and ensembles to campus. By hosting extraordinary talents like Yo-Yo Ma, Wynton Marsalis, Actors From The London Stage, and Les Arts Florissants—to name just a few—we elevate the university’s cultural landscape. These performances not only enrich the lives of students and faculty but also position Purdue as a leading cultural hub, attracting international artists and audiences and setting it apart on a global stage.
