Mask Policy Update

Mask Policy Update

Dear Convocations Friends,

Purdue Convocations (Convos) is announcing an update to its mask policy for the second half of the Spring 2022 semester. Effective March 21, 2022, any performances hosted by Purdue Convocations or the Student Concert Committee, regardless of location, will now follow “mask optional” guidance.

“We have been grateful for the audience’s support of our masking policies to date, especially as they were both designed and required by our touring productions,” said Todd Wetzel, Assistant Vice Provost, Student Life. “Protecting touring artists, technical crews, and audiences has been an essential element of our return to live performances,” he added. Now, in concordance with changes to policies in the State of Indiana and the Protect Purdue Health Center, Convos has renegotiated the audience masking provisions for its remaining productions. “Our artists have been grateful for your support so far, and they understand that many individuals will choose to continue mask usage,” concludes Wetzel.

The Convos and Hall of Music teams will continue to provide safe and secure backstage zones, maintaining combinations of mask and testing requirements for individuals working on productions, as dictated by the provisions of each contract.
