Geneva Lewis
Sunday, January 30, 2022 / 3:00 pm
Born in New Zealand but raised in the United States, young violinist Geneva Lewis emits passion for classical music on- and off-stage. Lewis debuted onstage as an 11-year-old prodigy for the Pasadena Symphony. Whether performing solo or as part of the Callisto Trio, Lewis has since earned national accolades for her musical prowess, having mastered such pieces as Béla Bartók’s Violin Sonata No. 1, Paul Schoenfeld’s Four Souvenirs, and Georg Philip Telemann’s Fantasia No. 7 in E flat major. Lewis’s current concert violin is a Stradivarius believed to have been crafted in 1714. She also engages with communities to promote music education—inspiring children to pick up the violin bow and, perhaps someday, experience the thrill of standing ovations like those that often greet her performances.
