Rana delivers ravishing performances as instinctively human as they are intellectually engaged with compositional subtext. Her Convos program will highlight the technical and emotional complexities of Frédéric Chopin’s four scherzos, ranging from tranquil and tender to terse and tense; a series of Claude Debussy études the composer considered suitable only for “remarkable hands”; and a deep exploration of emotional dissonance in an excerpt from Igor Stravinsky’s Petrushka ballet.
