Creatives Wanted!

JamSpace is a creative rehearsal workspace for Purdue students, outfitted primarily for music making. Knowing that one of the key challenges for musicians is having a suitable place to make music and be a part of a self-designed creative community, the Hall of Music Productions and Purdue Convocations teams have opened a platform to support your journey and the local live music scene.

Tune Up!

JamSpace is large, carpeted room, outfitted with basic guitar and bass amps, a keyboard, drumkit and a small PA system, giving even musicians without much gear a basic turnkey platform for collaboration. Musicians are welcome to bring their own equipment to the room. JamSpace is located in the lower level of the iconic Elliott Hall of Music.

Scheduling the JamSpace

All prospective users must be registered Purdue students. Each group will meet with a representative of the Hall of Music to review and sign a usage policy framework. In short, each member of the JamSpace community becomes a steward of its culture, supporting each other, the equipment, and the facility.

The availability of JamSpace will naturally work in and around the schedule of an active venue and classroom building, honoring times where sonic interference may not be desirable/permitted, but filling the available gaps with your sonic investigations.

NOTE: As the building is not fully ADA-compliant, access to the space currently requires the ability to navigate stairs. By special arrangements, the Hall of Music may be able to accommodate selected alternative access strategies.

To schedule a meeting to become a part of the JamSpace community, contact the Hall of Music team at HLMCadmin@purdue.edu

Help us build our next phase!

The energy is already here. We’d like to take JamSpace to the next level with increased sound isolation treatment, more instruments, more gear, and more good vibes! If helping perpetuate this powerful creative community at Purdue is inspiring to you, we’d welcome your interest and support. Contact Todd Wetzel at tewetzel@purdue.edu.
