After turning thousands of heads on Purdue’s campus in 2011, SWAY, then known as Australia’s Strange Fruit, returns for a series of outdoor performances on the lawn of the Purdue Memorial Union. The collective of acrobatic performance artists is known for its stunts atop 14-foot sway poles. The performers arc high in the sky with such force that they can almost touch the seated audience members below before shooting off in the opposite direction. SWAY’s new show, Bloom!, is a 20-minute, vibrant experience inspired by the brilliant colors of Smoky Mountain wildflowers. The show debuted in April at Dollywood Theme Park—and if it’s Dolly Parton-approved, you know it’s worth a look.
