ABOUT At the Illusionist’s Table

A person in a suit sits at a dimly lit table with a laptop, illuminated by a three-candle candelabra reminiscent of the Illusionist’s Table, creating a dramatic and mysterious atmosphere inspired by Scott Silven.

Experience the unexpected as artist Scott Silven returns to Purdue with his revelatory, marvel of an evening. After a sold-out engagement of this show in 2018, we return to Silven’s magical world where evocative stories, culinary delights, and stunning elixirs swirl together in the most intimate and mind-bending illusion and epicurean immersion you’ve ever encountered.

At the Illusionist’s Table is an extraordinarily special and limited engagement—designed to provide critical support for Purdue Convocations. This remarkable experience features only six seatings of 24 guests, each one featuring a bespoke, gourmet three-course dinner curated by Chef Dawn Sieber and exquisitely served by students from Purdue’s Hospitality and Tourism Management program, with wine and single-malt pairings inspired by the mystery and surprise of the evening.

Wow, Wow, Wow, Silven will leave your mouth agape.

Tickets FAQs for Friends of Convos

Why is it limited to Friends of Convocations?

This is a limited engagement available exclusively to Friends of Convos. Tickets will go on sale to current Friends of Convos in early July. A ticket request form will be made available to specify preferred seating dates and times, as well as the number of tickets you wish to purchase. Ticket requests will be filled in Priority Points order. For each ticket purchased, you will receive 2 bonus Priority Points. Convos is fully self-supporting, and your ticket purchases and generous gifts power everything we do!

Does it count as a tax-deductible gift?

No. However, you will receive 2 bonus Priority Points per ticket purchased. Generous support has been provided by Chris and Cindy Meyer and Kevin and Janene Davis. Additional support comes from the Purdue Convocations Innovative Performance Fund.

How many tickets may I purchase?

Ticket limit is 4 per household. If you would like to purchase for a group of 8 or more, please contact friendsofconvos@purdue.edu or 765-494-9712.

What does the show ticket include?

Scott Silven’s At the Illusionist’s Table is an intimate performance with 24 audience members seated at a large table. The evening includes a 3-course meal curated by Chef Dawn Sieber and served by Purdue University Hospitality and Tourism Management Black Tie Dinner students, plus wine and single-malt whisky pairings. When your purchase is confirmed, we will forward a dietary request form regarding your personal needs, if any. At that time, we will request that you provide contact information for your guests so we may collect their individual needs and provide other performance communication.

What if I’m late?

Due to the nature of the performance, no late seating is permitted. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before show time to ensure timely seating.

What if I purchase a ticket, but can’t attend?

Refunds will not be offered for any reason. We strongly encourage you to reach out to us with as much notice as possible. If a conflict arises and you provide at least 48 hours’ notice, we will do our best to fill your seat with another ticket buyer. It is important for the performance that every seat is filled. Convos is a self-supporting organization. Tickets and gifts power everything we do!
