Though rooted in California now\, the pair first connected as teenagers in a Miami high school music program\, recognizing early on a shared fluency in music and an easy creative chemistry. Their earliest project together took the form of a progressive rock band before they gradually turned their focus toward pop. That shift became Magdalena Bay: a project built around exploring pop music as a broad\, elastic form\, shaped by nostalgia\, modern technology\, and a strong visual sensibility. \n\n\n\nFollowing a steady run of EPs and singles\, the duo released their debut album Mercurial World in 2021\, gaining attention for its vivid hooks\, meticulous production\, and cohesive digital aesthetic.
